Donington Park track day
We recently invited 10 guests to attend a track day hosted by Salone Events, at the Donington Park race circuit.
Things got underway on Wednesday night, with a meet and greet with our guests at Radisson Blu, East Midlands for an evening of chatting and drinks in the hotel bar.
It was an early wake up call to head to the track. The majority of guests arrived driving their prize possessions to the circuit. However, one guest did bring a fully prepared race truck with their 1 series race car housed inside. The 1 series races in the 116 trophy, and this was brought to the track day alongside the owners stunning Shark Blue Porsche 992 GT3.
The selection of guest cars was particularly Porsche heavy, with a 996 GT3, a 997.2 GT3RS, a few 991 GT3RS’ and a pair of 992 GT3’s taking to our designated pit garages. We were also joined by a Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spider, 488 Pista Spider, Brabus Mercedes 500 and unique Audi R8 V10 plus in Metallic Camouflage Green.
Drivers and their passengers enjoyed a thankfully clear and sunny day in Castle Donington, enabling them to utilise and enjoy their track time to the fullest. As an additional offering, two track instructors were on hand for anyone who wanted to learn more about the track, or just to improve their track driving with an experienced racing driver.
Also in attendance were a couple of our consignment vehicles for everyone to admire, including the Ferrari 599 SA Aperta and the Ferrari F430 Challenge. Alongside these vehicles, we took our wrapped Ferrari F40 and hosted five competition winners in the afternoon, who got to enjoy their passenger hot laps in the iconic supercar. Safe to say they were beaming with happiness!
On the day, our logistics manager Will decided to dust off his race suit and boots, to take to the track for some team bonding providing some passenger hot laps to members of the team. Will has a background in karting so is no stranger to the race track.
It was a fantastic experience for the guests, who we couldn’t let leave empty-handed, so each received an exclusive goodie bag. We had a wonderful time chatting and getting to know everyone, and discussing plans for 2022 with the exclusive events we have lined up.
