Introducing PopBangPaddlUp: an automotive collaboration like no other
Supercar auctioneers and contemporary automotive artist prepare for 2022 roadshow
PaddlUp and PopBangColour have joined forces for a collaboration between the worlds of supercar sales, supercar auctions and automotive artwork, with the pairing embarking on a roaming roadshow that will exhibit both organisations on each step of the journey.
Supercar auction platform, PaddlUp delivers a comprehensive buying and selling service via a spectacular, purpose-built venue with panoramic views of the Wiltshire countryside. Aptly known at The Gallery, the walls of the exclusive supercar showroom stood out as prime real estate to display premium artwork with an automotive twist.
When PaddlUp CEO Tim Mayneord met Ian Cook aka PopBangColour at an event at Donington Park, an idea was born. Cook's unique spin on car and motorsport-related artwork – utilising radio-controlled cars, toy cars and car tyres to produce high quality works of art – was a natural fit to serve as a backdrop for PaddlUp's selection of meticulously curated £100k+ supercars.
Not only will a range of PopBangColour artwork adorn the walls of The Gallery at The PaddlUp Rooms, but the pairing will also be attending selected automotive events across the year including Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Thruxton Historic, and the Bicester Scramble among others.
Ian Cook, PopBangColour commented: "I met Tim [Mayneord] at an event at Donington. I saw the F40 pulling into the paddock and I thought that is quite brave! It turns out he had seen my work at events from several years prior to that. We got chatting about PaddlUp's showroom and when I visited, I saw lots of white walls and thought 'I've got some artwork that would be perfect for those spaces!'
"We're going to be working closely this year attending events like the Festival of Speed to bring the two brands together and to help raise awareness of what I do and what PaddlUp does."
Tim Mayneord, Co-Founder & CEO, PaddlUp added: "It's fantastic to finally see this partnership come to fruition. I've been aware of PopBangColour for some time now and I'm glad we've been able to collaborate in this way.
"Our showroom is filled with rare and exclusive supercars so it seems only natural to have the finest automotive art on the walls surrounding them. Ian's methods create a finish to the pieces unlike anything I've seen before. I think I speak for everyone when I say I can't wait for our roadshow to get underway!"
