PaddlUp in attendance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022
PaddlUp and PopBangColour joined forces for the 2022 edition of the world-renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed and there was plenty to experience across the four-day event, both at our stand and throughout the event's various zones.
Over the course of the weekend, we encouraged Ian Cook – AKA PopBangColour – to cover our PaddlUp branded Ferrari F40 in various designs to draw in the huge crowds seen at Goodwood this year. Clear vinyl was used to protect the paintwork, then the PopBangColour logo was given pride of place on the bonnet alongside Gas Monkey and PaddlUp itself. Ian went on to draw the #FindTheF40 hashtag and an Italian flag on the car, and, rather cheekily wrote 'Not an MR2' on the headlight in an attempt to put a stop to the numerous replica questions we were receiving.
The stand itself housed not only our F40, but also plenty of merchandise, some fine art examples and the PopBangColour mobile art studio as well as members of the PaddlUp team to tell visitors about the incredible service we offer. In addition, a weekend-long competition was underway that enabled those who followed our Instagram page and liked our pinned post to enter a competition to win a prize box.
As is expected at the festival, there were recognisable faces from the motorsport and automotive industries around every corner. Among them was Ollie the car kid, who we invited to sit in the F40, start it up and sign his name on the bodywork. Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge stopped by to have a look around having recognised the F40 from Stonor Supercar Sunday 2021 with YouTubers aplenty taking time out of their schedules to grab a moment with our now-infamous F40.
Of course, it wasn't just PaddlUp and PopBangColour who were exhibiting at the festival so naturally, we had to have a look around and see which cars caught our eye. Included in the Concours section were six McLaren F1s, a silver Ferrari Enzo, a yellow Ferrari F50 and a fully restored F40.
Elsewhere on-site was the official Ferrari offering which boasted the stunning Daytona SP3 which we also came across on our visit to Salon Privé London and of course, the topical Prodrive P25 Impreza.
XPEL's 488 Pista Piloti was yet another car that grabbed our attention having had one in our showroom recently, a Koenigsegg Jesko as seen in our Star Wars May the 4th car list and cars from a duo of automotive organisations that featured in our recent Goodwood top picks article, Singer and Lanzante.
