Range Rover SV Autobiography Ultimate Edition

12th February 2022

With a rich and illustrious heritage stretching back over 50 years, the Range Rover brand has become synonymous with luxury and performance. It is the first choice of transport for business leaders, celebrities and sports stars alike – while the Queen is one of its many royal fans.

A large part of this continued growth and success has been the opportunity to personalise a vehicle to your specific requirements. As such, the Range Rover options list has always been comprehensive, allowing customers to really express themselves. Of course, all of this comes at a cost, but when money is no object, you can indulge your every whim.

Which brings us to this stunning example.

First delivered in October 2021, this Range Rover SV Autobiography Ultimate Edition is presented in immaculate Premium Palette Green. Having covered just 1900 miles, this pristine, one-owner, example boasts an extremely high factory specification but also benefits from a comprehensive list of optional extras.

The first point of note is that this is the long wheel-base (LWB) model. That means acres of space, allowing a truly luxurious experience for anyone lucky enough to travel in the rear. This rear-centric focus includes multi-adjustable seats, which can be individually reclined at the touch of a button, as well as offering heating, cooling and massage functions. Comfort is further enhanced by the calf and footrests, while the power rear doors offer further passenger convenience.

The seats, like much of the interior, have been swathed in fine, perforated leather with a sumptuous Vintage Tan finish. This being a late 2021 model, everything feels and smells like new and it has a very light and airy feel, thanks to the large, sliding, panoramic roof.

For many, a vehicle like this will be used as something of a mobile office, so the specification includes a comprehensive multi-media pack with full online connectivity, large 10.2in screens and exquisite fold-out aluminium tables, ideal for a laptop. A bottle chiller and electric sun blinds are also included, while a Zenith clock takes centre stage in the immaculately presented centre console.

For those who prefer to do their own driving, this SV will not disappoint. Climb into the sumptuous front seat and you’re greeted by an extremely well-appointed cabin. Like the rear, swathes of fine, Vintage Tan leather cover almost every surface, while Copper Weave Carbon Fibre inlays and knurled aluminium switchgear add to the sense of occasion.

Everything is well laid out and easy to navigate, including the large, touchscreen infotainment system. It boasts Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Navigation Pro, DAB radio, a digital TV tuner and Apple CarPlay, along with a premium, Meridian sound system to deliver a concert-like audio experience. The heated and cooled massage front seats further add to the luxury of this Ultimate Edition Range Rover.

Exterior wise this SV really is stunning. Finished in special, Premium Palette Green Duo-Tone paint (a £9,000 option), and optional 22in alloy wheels, it has immense road presence. Adaptive bi-xenon headlights are standard, as are parking sensors and a 360-degree camera, while the twin tailpipes add a sporting touch to this supercharged leviathan, allowing that sonorous V8 to be heard.

So how does it drive? In a word, effortlessly.

Push the start button and the engine burbles into life with a purposeful rumble that lets you know this is something special. The supercharged 5.0-litre V8 produces 557bhp, but it’s the 502 ft/lb of torque that will really impress. Acceleration is brisk, with 0-62mph achievable in 5.4-seconds, all capably managed by the smooth, 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Out on the open road, this SV almost defies physics with its ability to put on speed and carry it into turns. You almost forget that it’s such a large vehicle, even down to the ability of the huge brakes to haul it down from speed with ease. Part of the reason for this dynamic on-road prowess is the excellent air ride suspension, which sits lower than a standard Range Rover. It firms up the handling to prevent undue roll through turns, without ever feeling uncomfortable.

With a commanding view of the road, super-luxurious interior and that potent, supercharged V8 engine, this SV Autobiography Ultimate Edition is, quite possibly, the definitive cross-country cruiser. This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of the most highly-specified and luxurious examples in the UK today.
