2017 Ferrari 488 Spider
Sold
When the 458 was replaced by the 488 with its 3.9 litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8, Ferrari had returned to a turbocharged 8-cylinder for the first time since the fabled F40 in 1987. When history looks back upon the 8-cylinder Ferrari bloodline stretching back to the 1975 308 GTB, the 488 will be remembered as one of the last reiterations of the classic configuration before the hybrid era.
delivering what Evo magazine described as “outrageous performance”
The 488 and its power unit have been rightly labelled by the automotive press as a masterpiece, more efficient, massively more potent than its predecessor, delivering what Evo magazine described as “outrageous performance” with any pre-perceived lack of naturally-aspirated association being more than replaced by the sheer drivability with almost astounding acceleration in any gear, from any speed to deliver the 661bhp and 560 lb-ft of torque.
The open-top 488 has involved some changes from the Berlinetta version. A flat deck area surrounded by flying buttresses has replaced the glass rear window with its view of the engine. The tub has been beefed up at the front and rear to compensate for removing the roof panel. In doing so, the Spider has the same torsional rigidity as the coupe. All being engineered for a switch on the centre console and 14 short seconds later the roof has vanished into the rear deck of the car.
This fantastic condition right-hand drive 488 Spider is specified in signature Rosso Corsa (paint protection film included) with a Nero interior with exterior options including Scuderia Shields, Carbon-Fibre Front Spoiler, Carbon Fibre Rear Air Ducts, Carbon Fibre B-Post Trim, Carbon-Fibre Exterior Sills, Parking Camera, Front and Rear Parking Sensors and sits on 20” Forged Dark Painted Rims with bare metal CCM Brake Calipers and the factory Sports Exhaust System.
The Nero Leather interior is specified with a multitude of personalisation that includes Large Carbon-Fibre backed Goldrake Racing Seats with Red Leather Central Stripe, Seat Lifter, Rosso Contrast Stitching, Embossed Headrests as well as a number of Carbon-Fibre upgrades including the Driver Zone, Steering Wheel with LEDs, and Dashboard Inserts and Interior Kick Sills.
The car has covered 18,845 miles and comes complete with its original wallet, hand books and service schedule. It has been maintained solely by the supplying dealer, Dick Lovett Ferrari Swindon.
