*Further information

The car was diagnosed by Dick Lovett Swindon with an internal engine issue. The engine was removed from the car and completely dismantled to find one damaged connecting rod. The part was replaced with a new connecting rod and the engine was then subject to a full reassembly with many replacement parts including (but not limited to):

  • Both fuel pumps
  • Fuel pipes with injectors
  • Left hand catalytic converter
  • Engine throttle body
  • Water pump
  • All 8 piston rings
  • Starter motor
  • Air conditioning compressor
  • All relevant nuts, bolts, o-rings and gaskets required for full rebuild
  • The cost for this work totalled £19,990.00

As such, the engine behaves and performs as new and to give the next owner peace of mind, Dick Lovett Swindon have confirmed the repairs carry a 12 months parts warranty and this is valid until January 2024. The full 5 page invoice is available to view in the photo gallery and in person.

  • 16/06/2023 at 18,540 miles - MOT, clean first time pass*

* The vehicle has returned from its latest service and MOT in preparation for the future purchaser. The car was given a clean bill of health, with only some minor cosmetic remarks in-fitting with its age and mileage. This work totalled £1,116.20 and the paperwork is able to be viewed within the photo gallery and in person.

More:

The Ferrari California T introduced a turbocharged engine back into the range for the first time in 22 years since the legendary F40 supercar ceased production at the Maranello plant. With the T, Ferrari gave the California a substantial visual facelift, with only the folding roof mechanism surviving from the predecessor.

The California T is less of a hard-edge sports car, more of an everyday grand touring machine. Each side of the 3.9-litre V8 gets its own twin scroll turbo producing over 550 horsepower and 557 lb ft of torque mated to a 7-speed twin-clutch paddleshift gearbox. The engine was developed with the goal of achieving virtually zero turbo lag and, as with naturally-aspirated power units, a torque curve that increases constantly across the rev range thanks to Variable Boost Management.

An intense Ferrari engine sound was also important to maintain despite the turbos and achieved through meticulous design work and the use of special manufacturing techniques for essential components, such as the flat-plane crankshaft and the three-piece cast exhaust manifold and turbo housing.

The car maintained the basic features of the California model presented in 2008: the mid-front engine layout, the 2+2 seating capacity and the retractable hard top which transforms it from a coupé into a spider in just 14 seconds. Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre in collaboration with Pininfarina, the California T side profile showed a different surface treatment of the wings, with a smoother, flowing effect with the hip line now starting from the front wheel arch, contributing to a cleaner and more stretched side view. This was inspired by the 250 Testa Rossa’s famous pontoon-fender styling with the front wing line stretching back towards a more muscular rear to gain an aerodynamic sleekness and movement to the sides the was absent before.

The look is also underlined by larger concave area of the side sills, which visually lightened the volume and the front end featured a revised look that borrowed a number of elements from the contemporary 458 Italia; the grille was larger and had more pronounced horizontal fins; the headlights were positioned on top of the front wing lines; and the air intake on the hood had been replaced by a central crease line and two air openings. The rear end featured a full-width triple-fence diffuser, which integrated the exhausts, now side-by-side and not stacked.
