Labelled by Aston Martin itself as a Limited Puristic-Edition, the car was developed by the brand's bespoke "Q by Aston Martin" service and limited to just 88 units worldwide. The Speedster excels as a visceral driver's car that is inspired by both the company's illustrious racing heritage and aeronautical design, using the engineering ingenuity and cutting-edge materials evident throughout the entire Aston Martin range.
Under the beautifully sculpted bonnet sits an engine that can only be described as a pure automotive powerhouse. Front-mid-mounted for improved weight distribution, the all-aluminium, 5.2-litre, quad-cam, 48-valve twin-turbocharged V12 produces an impressive 700hp output, alongside 555 lb-ft of torque. Coupled to a ZF 8-Speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, The V12 Speedster can reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a maximum speed limited to 186mph (300km/h).

While it was clear Aston Martin took design cues from the legendary 1950s DBR1 and the latest Vantage and DBS Superleggera models, inspiration was also taken from the 2013 CC100 Speedster concept car. Forged alloy wheels – utilising a centrelock wheel/hub design no less – house monstrous carbon ceramic brakes, 410mm at the front and 360mm to the rear.
The absence of a windscreen or roof merely enhances the driving experience, however, the 'bubbles' behind each seat feature storage for the two Aston Martin-supplied helmets should you desire protection from the elements.
Satin carbon fibre complements the V12 Speedster's elegant cockpit, the design which has implemented a modern twist on the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet it was modelled on. Gone is the glovebox, replaced with a beautiful leather bag and a cover for the car should it be raining when you park.
